The purpose of this project was to provide the necessary site preparation for the expansion of Magellan’s refined product storage and new pipeline servicing this region. This expansion consisted of converting an 18.8 acre homestead into a usable site for four new 300K BBL and one 175K BBL storage tanks. Work involved general earthwork and grading, 350K BBL containment pond construction, site storm drainage, gravel roadway construction, and foundations for two new tanks, with the potential area for four future tanks. Tank foundation work involved, subgrade preparation, concrete work, cathodic protection system, secondary containment liner and leak detection system, sand pad and gravel craneway.
